Geraldine Pratt

Born in Sydney, I studied Art at Sydney College of the Arts, completing a Bachelor of Education (Art) and commencing my career as a High School Art teacher in 1983. Handcrafted from Australian recycled timber, my artwork pays homage to Australian fauna and flora commonly found in the parks and gardens around Sydney. I love the medium of wood because of the inherent beauty of the grain and colour that are slowly revealed as I work. My artwork references Scandinavian art of the 1950s with its very simple form and clean lines and like a phoenix reborn it is hoped each sculpture will breathe new life into a home, courtyard or garden.   N0 5 on the 2020 Art Trail Map
